Start out RIGHT!

"I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." Psalm 121: 1-2

Do you ever just wake up and things are just not clicking? You seem to be in a downer? Not looking forward to the day’s events? Well, the way each day will look to you depends and starts with WHO you are looking to!

Do you wake up, jump in the shower, quickly eat breakfast (if you have time) and then run off to work or school? Sound familiar? Was it on days like these that you became easily angered, were moody or life just seemed blah? At these moments you may ask, "Gosh, why am I feeling like this, I don’t like it." You then may turn to the Lord and ask for His renewing freshness and a changed attitude. Instead of waiting until you ‘crack,’ START OUT at the place you go to when down.

Here are a couple suggestion to start your day...looking to the hills. He promised His help, now go claim it!

1. Right before getting out of bed prayerfully ask, "Lord before I get up, I sacrifice my life for your service. Today, lead me to where you want me to go, where the need is most."

2. Take time while showering to pray. Why not. This is a good time to pray for your upcoming day, friends, family and loved ones.

3. Sing or pray in the car. I love this one. Put in a good worship CD or tape and sing praises on the way to work or school. Or, turn off the radio and spend time talking to your Father and lift up prayers and praises to Him.

4. First thing in the morning, at the office or school, take time to commit the day to the Lord. Pray for opportunities to share Christ’s love that day. Also a good time to pray for those ‘situations’ at work that need Holy intervention!

5. On your breaks take a walk, read some scripture or pray. Even throughout the day we need refreshing, so look to Him for your help. These are just a few things to do to start each day, to continue living for His glory!

Let this be your prayer today:
Dear Lord, I lift my eyes to your holy hills. You are the source of my life and my help in times of trial. I yearn to seek you daily to come into closer communion with you, to walk where you are walking. Let me stretch out my hand each day, grabbing onto your wisdom and guidance. Let me not lift my eyes to things of this world or to unholy men, but only to you my King, my Father, my Friend. Thank you that I can come to you each morning and that you greet me with a smile. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The first step you take, affects the next steps that follow!

In Him, "E"
