Don’t forget your weapon!

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:4

Do you scare, are you fearful or afraid? Sure, we all are at times. But the question is, do we let it rule our lives? These feelings will never be absent from our lives. How we choose to live with fear is what matters. Let me explain...

When I say I am fearful of something, that is an expression of that "something" affecting my comfort level. When we come to a fearful situation there are two scenarios we have. One, be fearful and let the fear hinder us from moving and acting. Or Two, be fearful but rest in and claim Christ’s’ power and strength to overcome it.

Think about it for a moment. Jesus Christ was put through every test and trial and WALKED AWAY VICTORIOUS. NOT EVEN THE GRAVE TO HOLD HIM. So why do we fear when He is with us? Because we try to be strong on our own and rely on our own understanding and skills. Humble yourself, you don’t know, you don’t have the strength, you are not strong, fearless and invincible! You are weak and will always fail on your own. Yes, strong words but the truth.

So how do we defeat fear? We don’t, He who is in us does. We choose to resist fear by calling on His strength. Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear...not absence of fear. For fear will not be absent but we can master it WITH THE MASTERS HELP!

Let this be your prayer today:
Dear Lord, you are the master over fear. As I walk in this world full of shadows of death, I claim the power of Christ’s’ victory in my life and over the world. In my times of fear I call upon your strength, your shield of protection. I ask that you draw your sword to fight my battles, for I humbly admit I will lose without you. Break me of my pride, arrogance and personal strength. My only courage to win the battle, to finish the race, comes from you. I claim right now with the courage of Christ to resist fear. My Lord, my Father, my Master-You are the Master over Fear. In Christ’s’ name I pray, Amen.
You will inevitable do battle, whether it’s disease, death, anger or frustration, just don’t forget your weapon!

In Him, "E"
