"Superman"

"It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect." Psalm 18:32

He can leap over tall buildings in a single bound, run faster than a speeding bullet, bend steal with his bare hands. Who is this? You got it, Jesus Christ. But what did you really think? Superman, right? That character that came out of the early comic books, soon making it to the big screen and eventually even a TV series. We are fascinated with characters that have amazing abilities beyond our own, but not all are fictional. Take Michael Jordan, a house hold name. Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, or any number of political or social leaders. Why do these highly talented and gifted people have such a huge following? Because they did things no one else did. On top of that, they inspire people!

Where are Jesus' Hollywood movies? Why don't you see a daily sitcom showing the life and times of Christ? Didn't Jesus have a bigger impact on the world than JFK or MLK? After Jordan retires another superstar will replace him. Where is Jesus' recognition? Well we live in a dark world that looks at human strengths rather than Godly strength for our inspiration. I tell you that Jesus Christ and His life will outlast them all. He is the real Superman and you too can tap into that same power and strength. Just like Clark Kent got his power from the yellow sun; you can get your power from the Son of God!

Claiming the power of God requires change, just like Clark Kent had to change into Superman. Clark went into a phone booth and spun around real fast until he became the blue and red, tight spandex wearing strong man. God does the same thing in your spiritual phone booth; He too takes you on a spin. How does God do this? Let me ask you this; have you ever faced a challenge or a difficult time? Sure. This my friend is the spinning. God promises to give us strength to meet our challenges. Some wonder why He allows them to happen in the first place. Think about it for a moment. If God gave you no rough roads to walk, mountains to climb or battles to fight, how would you grow in your faith and become stronger? The beautiful thing is that He never leaves your side. As you're facing a challenge, He teaches you through the Bible, He communicates to you in prayer, He gives you all the strength you'll ever need.

In a world that is searching for someone to follow, you can choose to follow a real leader, a real hero and a real superman. No, He doesn't have a Hollywood contract, a nelson rating or even a shoe contract, Jesus wouldn't want one. But He does want one thing and one thing only, to be your friend, your savior and your superman. If you know Jesus today, continue to seek and follow in His footsteps. If you don't know Jesus and desire a real super change in your life, repeat this prayer between you and God:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I've looked to other people in my life to follow, but have continually been let down. I want to live a joyous life, a life where I can call upon your strength to get through the difficult times. I want the power of your Son, Jesus Christ, in my life. I ask that Jesus comes into my heart right now, I openly accept you and want to learn to love and worship you. Thank you for this precious gift and opportunity. Amen.

There are two people you can choose to follow, one is man and the other is SUPERMAN!

In Him, "E"
