The Wind and Sea Obey

By Gerald Sumeracki

They launched their boat, the skies were clear, O'er waves of Galilee, The mission of their loving Lord, They knew to hold life's key. The rolling clouds grew darkly mean, As sailed they many hours, Their Lord, the Christ, was fast asleep, When peaked the storms full power. Their sailing craft did toss about, Grown waves were fought in fear, All thought the sea would be their end, His words they'd no more hear. With anguished voice they shouted out, In words of great alarm, "We perish Lord, please do awake, "To know this pending harm." The Lord did wake and saw their fear, He stood in majesty, And stretched His hands out to the sea, With words of power spoke He. The wind, it ceased, the sea becalmed, And skies became quite blue, As nature's sea and wind did yield, To Jesus Christ the Jew. His followers in whispered speech, Did question, "What is this, "That wind and sea obey His words, "Yes words to bring such bliss." Christ looked at them, so much they'd learn, These men He'd later fill, And asked them why they failed to lean, On God's and not their will. And so a lesson had been taught, For each man's seeking soul, Yes all must learn that Jesus Christ, Must be man's Light and Goal.
